Content Standards
Play Smash or Pass is a free, browser-based choice game about fictional characters and creatures. These standards explain what belongs on the site, what does not, and how to report a problem.

What Smash or Pass means here
On this site, Smash or Pass is a simple two-button choice game. A card appears, you pick Smash or Pass (or Skip where available), and you finish with a personal score and lists. It is meant for quick, playful opinions about a lineup—not trivia, not a quiz, and not a ranking of real people.
The brand name matches how people search for this format. The tone of the site is general-audience entertainment: keep-or-skip energy, fictional worlds, and shareable results—not sexual content, not a dating app, and not “rate attractiveness” as adult media.
Fiction only
Playable lineups feature:
- Fictional anime and game characters
- Fictional Pokémon and similar creatures
- Game personas such as champions or agents, as presented in their franchises
We do not host games whose purpose is to rate real private individuals, classmates, coworkers, or non-public figures. If something on the site looks like it targets a real private person, email support@playsmashorpass.com with the subject “Safety Report” and the page link.
General-audience, not adult content
Core games use official-style or publicly available character art, not pornographic images, hentai, or graphic sexual content. We do not intend the site as an adult cam, escort, or explicit gallery product.
Some franchises include mature themes in their source stories. Seeing a fighter or mage from those worlds in a Smash or Pass round does not mean every visitor is an adult, and it does not turn the page into adult sexual content. Parents and guardians can use device-level controls if they prefer.
For how we talk about children and data, see the Privacy Policy “Children” section.
Character lists
Where a human-like roster includes younger or child-coded characters, we aim to keep the playable Smash or Pass list focused on adult-presenting characters. Methods vary by game:
- Manual allowlists for several anime and game lineups
- Extra checks such as excluding known child body models where the source data provides them
- Community and rights-holder reports when something looks wrong
Lists are not perfect. Franchises change, ages are sometimes ambiguous in fiction, and data sources can lag. If a character should not appear, tell us which page and name—we would rather remove a doubtful entry than leave it up.
Pokémon rounds feature fictional creatures from the Pokémon world. They are a keep-or-skip style pick game about those creatures, not a game about real people or sexual content.
Advertising layout (when ads are shown)
If Google or other display ads appear on the site, we aim to follow better-ads common sense:
- Do not cover the Smash, Pass, or Skip controls with ads
- Do not disguise ads as game buttons or results
- Do not ask players to click ads to continue a round
- Prefer placements on results, side rails, and below-the-fold sections when practical
Ad-related data practices are described in the Privacy Policy when advertising is enabled.
Franchise rights
Character names, likenesses, and trademarks belong to their owners. Play Smash or Pass is an independent fan-made entertainment site and is not endorsed by those rights holders unless we say otherwise. Rights notices go to support@playsmashorpass.com—see also the Terms of Use.
